§ 6-9. Authorization.

The county will offer financial assistance for the maintenance and operation of any fire department qualifying for financial assistance under the terms of this article, in an amount to be determined by the board of county commissioners with regard to the particular needs of the fire departments applying for funds; provided however, that no municipal fire department shall be entitled to funds under the provisions of this resolution, unless such fire department shall provide fire protection to areas lying outside of its municipal boundary. The payments, if any, to each department shall be used for the purchase and maintenance of equipment and for the operation of the department.
