§ 16-12. Enforcement.

  • (a)

    No certificate of occupancy shall be issued by the building inspector until an official address has been displayed in accordance with this chapter.

    (b)

    No certificate of completion will be issued for mobile home parks until address numbers are properly displayed for each lot within the park.

    (c)

    Owners of buildings already constructed will be required to comply with this chapter.

    (d)

    No person may remove, obliterate, conceal, or destroy any number or sign displayed in accordance with this chapter.

    (e)

    No person shall erect or install a street name sign not in accordance with this ordinance.

    (f)

    No person may place or post addresses not approved by this ordinance or fail to place an address visible from the street.

    (g)

    The county will not be held responsible or liable from owners or occupants for personal injury or damage to buildings or dwellings constructed which do not comply with this chapter.

    (h)

    The provisions of this chapter may from time to time be amended, supplemented, changed, modified or repealed by the board of commissioners.

    (i)

    Should any section or provision of this chapter be declared by the courts to be invalid for any reason, such declaration shall not affect the chapter as a whole, or any part thereof other than the part so declared to be invalid.

    (j)

    The county board of commissioners, upon review and recommendation of the E911 address administrator, may authorize a variance from these regulations when in its opinion, the interests of the general public would best be served by such variance.

    (k)

    Any person who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction punishable by a fine of $100.00. In the event that violations of this chapter are not corrected within 15 days of written notice, the county may perform the work and bill the property owner(s).
