§ 8-2. Penalties for violation.

  • Violation of the provisions of this chapter or failure to comply with any of the requirements of this chapter (including violations of conditions and safeguards established in connection with grants for variances) shall constitute a misdemeanor. Any person who violates this chapter or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall upon conviction thereof be punished as provided by section 1-6 of this Code. Each day such violation continues shall be a separate offense. The county shall also be authorized to take such other lawful actions as may be necessary in order to prevent or remedy any violation, and the county is authorized to enforce the terms and conditions of this chapter by appropriate civil action or proceedings to restrain, correct or abate a violation hereof. In this regard the county shall have those actions and remedies set forth in G.S. 153A-123.
