The purpose of the conservation regulations shall be to protect the sensitive environmental areas located in the "Down East" area of Carteret County. This Appendix seeks to reduce and control future surface water quality degradation to the Outstanding Resource Waters and Areas of Environmental Concerns and to protect and safeguard the general health, safety, and welfare of residents in the "Down East" area of Carteret County.
