Appendix 1402. Rules of procedure.

The board of adjustment will adopt rules and regulations in accordance with chapter 153A of the North Carolina General Statutes [G.S. Ch. 153A] for its own operation necessary to carry out the provisions of this ordinance. The zoning enforcement officer will maintain copies of the adopted rules for public information. The board of adjustment shall elect a chairman and vice-chairman from its membership who shall serve for one (1) year or until their successors are elected. The chairman or, in his (her) absence, the vice-chairman may administer oaths. The board shall appoint a secretary, who may be a county officer, an employee of the county, a member of the planning commission, or a member of the zoning board of adjustment. All meetings of the board of adjustment shall be open to the public.
